General FAQs

What is Foot Direct Club?

Foot Direct Club is a convenient, at-home solution for getting high-quality, custom-made orthotics—without ever visiting a clinic.
We make it easy to take your own foot impressions using our Impression Kit, which we ship to your door for free. Once you return the kit, our experts craft orthotics tailored to your unique foot shape and support needs. Whether you’re dealing with foot pain, plantar fasciitis, flat feet, or just looking for everyday comfort, we’re here to help you feel better—one step at a time.

How do custom orthotics work?

Custom orthotics work by supporting the unique shape and mechanics of your feet to improve alignment, reduce pressure, and relieve pain. At Foot Direct Club, we use your foot impressions to design orthotics
that match your exact arch, gait, and pressure points. This personalized support helps correct imbalances, absorb shock, and prevent strain on your feet, ankles, knees, and back. Whether you’re standing all day, recovering from injury, or just looking for better comfort—custom orthotics help your body move more naturally and
comfortably.

Who can benefit from custom orthotics?

Custom orthotics can benefit anyone looking for better foot support,
but they’re especially helpful for people who:

• Suffer from foot pain –
including plantar fasciitis, heel pain, arch pain, or ball-of-foot
pain

• Have flat feet or high arches –
and need better alignment and shock absorption

• Stand or walk for long periods –
including healthcare workers, retail staff, and teachers

• Are active or athletic – and
want to reduce stress on joints and prevent injuries

• Have diabetes or arthritis –
and need extra cushioning and protection for sensitive feet

• Experience knee, hip, or back
pain – which can sometimes be linked to poor foot alignment

• Want more comfort in everyday
shoes – even without a specific condition

Because they’re custom-made to
your foot shape, orthotics from Foot Direct Club provide personalized
support that off-the-shelf insoles just can’t match.

What conditions do orthotics help with? (e.g., plantar fasciitis, flat feet, heel pain, etc.)

• Custom orthotics can help relieve pain and improve mobility for a
wide range of foot and lower-body conditions, including:

• Plantar Fasciitis – reduces
heel pain by supporting the arch and absorbing shock

• Flat Feet or Fallen Arches –
provides structure and promotes proper alignment

• High Arches – cushions
pressure points and improves weight distribution

• Overpronation or Supination –
corrects foot mechanics and gait issues

• Heel Spurs – adds cushioning
and reduces pressure on the heel

• Metatarsalgia (Ball-of-Foot
Pain) – redistributes pressure to relieve pain

• Shin Splints – improves
alignment to reduce stress on the lower leg

• Achilles Tendonitis – supports
the heel and reduces strain on the tendon

• Bunions & Hammertoes –
improves foot positioning to ease pressure

• Knee, Hip, or Lower Back Pain –
often caused by poor foot alignment

Orthotics are also commonly
recommended for people with diabetes, arthritis, or neuropathy to
help prevent pressure sores and improve stability.

How are your orthotics different from over-the-counter insoles?

Over-the-counter (OTC) insoles are made for the masses—they offer
general cushioning and support but aren't designed for your unique
feet. Custom orthotics from Foot Direct Club are built specifically
for your foot shape, arch type, and walking style using a detailed
impression of your feet.

Here’s how they compare:

Payments & Insurance

How much do custom orthotics cost?

Our custom orthotics are competitively priced at $199 per pair,
including the at-home Impression Kit and free shipping both ways. No
hidden fees—just personalized support made to fit your feet.

Do you accept insurance or FSA/HSA cards?

We don’t bill insurance directly, but yes, we do accept FSA and HSA
cards at checkout. Most plans consider orthotics a qualified medical
expense, but we recommend checking with your provider to confirm
eligibility.

Are there any payment plans available?

Yes! We offer flexible payment plans through Shop Pay or Klarna at
checkout. You can split your purchase into smaller, interest-free
payments—making it easier to invest in long-term foot comfort
without the upfront strain.

How do I clean my orthotics?

To clean your orthotics, simply wipe them down with a damp cloth and
mild soap. Let them air dry completely before placing them back in
your shoes. Avoid soaking them in water or putting them in the
washing machine or dryer, as this can damage the materials.

How long do custom orthotics last?

With regular use, custom orthotics typically last 12 to 24 months,
depending on your activity level and how often you wear them. Signs
that it’s time for a replacement include worn-out top covers,
reduced support, or changes in foot comfort.

Can I move my orthotics between different shoes?

Yes! Our orthotics are designed to fit in most types of footwear. You
can move them between sneakers, work shoes, or casual footwear—just
make sure the shoe has enough space and a removable insole for the
best fit.

Can kids or athletes use your orthotics?

Absolutely. We offer orthotics suitable for kids, teens, and
athletes. Whether it’s for growing feet, sports performance, or
injury prevention, our custom orthotics provide targeted support and
protection for active lifestyles.
